Founded in the year 1859, it is one of the oldest boarding schools for boys in Asia. It is located in Shimla. The admission to this school is through an entrance exam and the seats are given on the basis of merit rating as well as vacancy. The non-refundable part of the fee includes Rs. 10,000 as registration fee, Rs. 30,000 as admission fee and Rs, 35,000 as infrastructure fee. The refundable part of the fee includes Rs. 50,000 as caution money. The annual fee for classes II to X is Rs. 2, 75,000, for classes XI and XII it is Rs. 2, 90,000 and Rs. 30,000 is the imprest. Parents need to deposit Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 7,500 as pocket money for their child in classes III to V and VI to XII, respectively.

But from class I onwards, an entrance exam is held.
